As India continues to fight the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, there are numerous families that have been severely affected by it. The severity ranges from death of the bread earner or loss of job/livelihood or a severe hospital admission. While we have continued to serve the underprivileged, economically weaker and tribal areas, we have also been wanting to serve families (not necessarily economically weaker), who have been severely affected by COVID-19 majorly in form of change in economic status. We identified such beneficiaries and donated food kits which would last for 30 days. This is a project which we plan to do over a period of entire year. We donated kits to 2 families of 03/07/2021 and kits to 8 more families on 14/07/2021. These kits comprise of food grains and essential items which would last for a month. These kits were partly sponsored by our member – Rtn. Suniti Dixit and partly sponsored by funds raised externally. We hope that this donation will give these families some breathing space to be able to recollect themselves and get their lives back to normal. This project was featured in Rotary News Plus Magazine - August 2021 Issue (Page 30).
