Rotary Club of Panvel Elite conducted an enlightening awareness talk on water conservation for the students and parents of RZP School, Gulsunde. This talk aimed to educate the students on effective water-saving practices in both school and household settings. During the session, emphasis was placed on the critical importance of conserving water, especially in a world increasingly facing water scarcity. Rtn. Suniti Dixit provided practical tips on how to reduce water usage in daily activities, such as fixing leaks, taking shorter showers, and using water-efficient appliances. She also highlighted the significance of rainwater harvesting and the benefits of using recycled water for gardening and other non-potable purposes. One of the notable observations during the interaction with the students was their proactive shift from plastic to metal water bottles. This change was attributed to the regular awareness lectures conducted over the past two years, focusing on reducing plastic usage and its environmental impact. The students' adoption of metal bottles is a testament to their growing environmental consciousness and their commitment to sustainable practices. Parents were also engaged in the discussion, learning about simple yet effective water conservation methods that can be implemented at home. The talk encouraged a collaborative effort between children and parents to foster a culture of sustainability and responsible water use within the community.
