Rotary Club of Panvel Elite in association with Rotary Club of Panvel Symphony and BBN Global Association organized a 3 day long Grand Diwali Festival 2021 Exhibition in Gokhale Hall, Panvel for Home-grown business, handicrafts and Tribal Village Residents with an aim to provide a marketplace for them under the Economic and Community Development Avenue of Rotary on 15th, 16th and 17th October 2021. COVID-19 affected countless individuals and businesses. Numerous individuals lost their jobs and many had their businesses shut down. This project was carried out with an aim to lend a helping hand to help them revive their business. This project had participation from 30 businesses which included several home-grown local businesses – in particular led by women, social organisations like Yusuf Meherali Center, handicrafts and Trifed – an arm of government which purchases goods from tribal dwellers and sells it at exhibitions to help them. The exhibition witnessed a footfall of 1200 people across 3 days with an average sale of 3 Lacs. The project also promoted E-bike by offering it as a part of lucky draw and promoting green energies. One of the exhibitors Mamta Singh who lost her job during COVID-19 wave was delighted to participate in this exhibition to promote her business which she operates from her house. The exhibition was inaugurated by District Governor Elect of RID 3131 – Rtn. Dr. Anil Parmar and the project was led by Economic and Community Development Director of the club – Rtn. Aditya Joshi.
