While any type of cancer is a dreadful thought, it is important to know that cervical cancer is the second most common cancer in India which affects young to mid-aged women. Timely detection and treatment of this cancer can help the affected cells to recover on time. Having said that, awareness about cervical cancer then gains extreme prominence. That awareness starts from our own families. On that note, Rotary Club of Panvel Elite organized a cervical cancer awareness lecture for members, anns and annets of Rotary Club of Panvel Elite on 29th July, 2018. Dr. Ambuja Mahendrikar spoke on symptoms and stages of Cervical Cancer. The lecture was engrossing and very well received and understood by the attendees. It benefitted close to 30 people. We, at Rotary Club of Panvel Elite firmly believe that “Prevention is better than cure”. If prevention is not possible then early detection is very important. We shall continue to carry out such awareness lectures in the days and years to come.
