The organs which we otherwise bury and burn are capable of saving lives. Almost 1.5 lakh people in India need an organ; however, only 3000 of them receive one. Only 1 out of 30 people who need an organ but only one receive it. 90% of people in the waiting list die without getting an organ. Having said that, Rotary Club of Panvel Elite conducted an organ donation awareness camp at 3 different locations of Technova – a multinational company in Navi Mumbai on 06th August, 2018. Employees of Technova formed majority of the attendees. This awareness drive was carried out to complement the online organ donation pledge drive which was being carried out by Rotary International District 3131. About 200 people were informed about the importance of organ donation. The attendees assured us to pledge their organs and thereby be a part of movement of saving life even after end of their own lives. Rotary Club of Panvel Elite salutes such contributors.
