Rotary Club of Panvel Elite organized a FREE mega Ear, Nose, Throat and Autism camp on 13th, 14th and 15th August, 2017 at Anand Hall, Panvel. This mega camp was organized in association with Shree Vardhaman Sthanakvasi Jain Shravak Sangh, Panvel and Pralhadrai Jhulelal Trust. Rtn. P.P. Dr. Prakash Golecha from Rotary Club of Jaipur East helped us carry out this project successfully and at a significant scale by examining patients. This camp witnessed a whopping 475 patients being examined and treated. What made this camp standout from others was that all the treatment was done without surgeries. About 50 patients had their ear-drums placed without surgery which brought back their hearing sensation – some who couldn’t hear at all before the procedure. Usually it requires Indian Rupees 35,000 for an ear-drum placement; however, we were able to offer this procedure for free without any incision or surgery. Furthermore, about 25 autism patients were also treated and were asked to check their IQ post the procedure and compare it with pre-procedure IQ. In addition to it, follow-up medicines were also offered for free. The camp witnessed a heart-warming response where after a certain point, the camp registration had to be closed due to excess demand. The high point of the camp was to be able to witness the joy on faces of the patients who were offered a new lease of life and hope after attending this camp.
